This book is the autobiography of J.F. Ribeiro, who led the Punjab Police as DGP,during the peak of Sikh struggle. This book contains the several occasions on which author met the senior political leaders and bureaucrats, interacting with them on the vital Public Issues, like tackling terrorism in Punjab from 1986-1989 and several other issues. This book touches the discussions held by the author with several leaders and the decisions that were taken. The Author did not carried a gun during his lifetime (even as a Senior IPS officer and not even during the high tensions in some areas). This book also stresses on author’s philosophy on how officers should behave in different circumstances and when faced with various problems, has been Spelt out in Succeeding chapters of the book.
