Anwant Kaur
Anwant Kaur (01.07.1935-14.04.2013) a Punjabi writer was born to Basant Kaur and Malak Singh Vohra in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She was married to Avtar Singh Deepak and settled in Amritsar.
She enjoyed a happy family life and engaged herself in literary pursuits for five decades continuously.
She wrote poetry, short stories and edited /published a Punjabi monthly Kanwal from 1969-1985. Her stories represent the urban woman and give expression to her plight and emotions. She also wrote some books for children. She participated actively in the literary activities of Amritsar and led many literary forums. Many literary awards were in her kitty.
