Dr. Manjit Singh Sidhu was born on 2nd July, 1943 in Malaysia. He had his early schooling at the Government English School, Kluang. After completing Senior Cambridge, he went to Malacca. He stayed with the revered saint, Sant Sohan Singh who became his guardian and friend. Later on he joined Government College Ludhiana and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree. He did MA in Geography from Panjab University, Chandigarh and Ph.D. from Liverpool University, UK.
He started his carrer as a Geography-cum-English teacher in Malaysia. He taught for 5 years in University of Malaya, 6 years in 2 Universities of West Africa and 12 years in University Utara Malaysia.
He has 4 books to his credit including Sikhs in Thailand and Sikhs in Malaysia besides many research articles published in journals of international repute.
