Dr. Harshinder Kaur (06.09.1962) a Punjabi writer, paediatrician and an activist was born to Narinder Kaur and Pritam Singh (Prof.) in Patiala. She is married to Gurpal Singh (Dr.).
After doing M.D. (Paediatrics), she is serving at Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. She gives voice to the plight of women in our society. She is also running Harsh Charitable Trust to help the needy girls. She saves some time from her busy professional schedule and travels far and wide to give lectures for the cause of girl child and other social problems.
Getting inspiration from her father and grandfather, she writes regularly on health and the suffering of women. Her write-ups appear in Punjabi dailies and other magazines regularly. She has also attempted to write stories for young children. Her writings are interesting and full of knowledge. Her books are being translated into Hindi and English as well.
She was awarded DR. M.S. Randhawa Award by Language Department Punjab for her book Bachian Bare Gian, Vigyan Te Manovigyan. Her another book Doctor Masi Dian Kahanian part 2 bagged Guru Harkrishan Award from Language Department Punjab.
