Ajeet Kour (B. 16.11.1934), a Punjabi writer, was born in Lahore, Pakistan to Jaswant kaur and Makhan Singh. She is married to Rajinder Singh.
She served in education department (1955-65). She has been engaged in journalism and creative writing. She is the chairperson of Academy of Fine Arts and Literature, New Delhi.
Her fiction writings portray the suppressed emotions of woman and her revolt against the patriachal society. Her autobiography is a meaningful narration. Her stories about the Sikh Genocide of 1984 are bold enough to record the dreadful events of that time.
She was awarded Sahitya Akademi Award (1984) for her autobiography 'Khana Badosh' besides many other reputed literary awards including Shiromani Sahitkar Award by Punjab Government. She was also conferred Padma Shri Award by Government of India.
